How to add your Virtual Assistant to manage your LinkedIn business page

The setup can be the final tricky hurdle before you reach the blissful state of watching your social posts magically appear and seeing the booking requests for your event come pouring in!

You've agreed a list of all the tasks you'd like your Virtual Assistant to take care of, now they just need access to get cracking.

From the worst (adding a new email address in Outlook) to the most simple (sharing a login to a social media scheduling tool) it can take up a little time to get your VA access to all the tools, especially if you don't know your passwords, but don't underestimate what a useful way this is to use your time!

There are some helpful tools such as LastPass which will allow you to save and share passwords, without sharing the actual password itself. However, there are some tools that just don't work that way.

Facebook and Instagram (Creator Studio), YouTube, Google Profile and LinkedIn are just a handful of these.

How to add an admin to a LinkedIn page?

LinkedIn is relatively straightforward when you know how:

Note: Your Virtual Assistant must have their own LinkedIn account set up in order to administer your LinkedIn business page, unless you just want them to schedule posts via a social media scheduler. The benefits of adding the VA as a LinkedIn admin on your account is that they get notifications just like you, they can respond to comments, update your business page profile and imagery, post articles and events (as well as posts), take a look at the analytics to see what is or isn't performing and who is engaging with your business page.

Adding an admin to your LinkedIn page

Step 1: Login to your LinkedIn account

Step 2: Look for your face at the top right (me) with an arrow pointing down - click on it

Step 3: Look for 'Manage' in bold

Step 4: Choose your company page name from the list

Step 5: Look for Admin tools over on the right, click the arrow

Step 6: Manage Admins

Step 7: Blue + Add Admin button

Step 8: Type in the person's name

Step 9: Choose the level of access you'd like them to have

Step 10: Important! Remove any admins who no longer work with you while you're there, in just the same way, click the bin icon next to their name.

That should get you on your way to handing over the LinkedIn page! One more task off the list, well done!!
