How to give access to your Virtual Assistant to manage your YouTube account

Why would you add your VA to help manage your YouTube account?

There are plenty of tasks which you can delegate when it comes to your YouTube account, from adding new video to updating what you already have listed to sharpen it up a bit for search.

Reasons to add your VA as a YouTube editor:

1. So your videos get added in a timely fashion - sometimes they can take a while to load when your laptop might be needed for other things

2. Your listings are optimised:

Title
Description
Time stamps
Boiler plate/about us is on point
Call to action is in there
Backlinks to your website are added

As well as the tags, privacy setting and whether the video is suitable for kids?

3. Subtitles are added for accessibility (plus a huge and growing number of people watch video with the subtitles on)

How to give your VA access to your YouTube account

Step 1. Open up another tab on your laptop! Make sure its a Chrome tab and that you are signed in to your Google account.

Step 2. Click those 9 dots at the top right.

Step 3. Click on the red YouTube icon - top right.

Step 4. Choose 'Your Channel'

Step 5. 'Customise channel' (a blue button)- your screen should change and you'll see a menu on the left (Dashboard, Content etc)

Step 6. Settings

Step 7. Permissions

Step 8. Invite (button on right) and add your VA's email address

Step 9. Choose which level of access you'd like your VA to have. There are currently six to choose from. I'd go for Editor.

Step 10. Take this opportunity to remove anyone on the list that no longer needs access.

Your VA should now be able to access your YouTube account via their own Google access, without needing your password.
